Jimin Mentioned By Harvard University: BTS member Park Jimin gained notoriety on January 31, 2024, when the CEO of Harvard University Education brought him up in a case study on the impact and recent growth of K-food, which contributed to its internationalisation.

In the case study, Harvard noted that when BTS member Jimin devoured hot chicken stir-fried noodles during a YouTube live broadcast, fans across the world began to participate in the “spicy taste challenge,” which entails uploading videos of themselves drinking spicy ramen.

The Like Crazy singer-songwriter’s prominence in case studies at esteemed colleges like Harvard has delighted fans. Even on Twitter, a fan praised the BTS star as the “Prince of Korea.”

The case study demonstrates how the worldwide celebrity of BTS’s impact has boosted various enterprises and expedited the global trend of Korean cuisine. For example, after the singer-songwriter Like Crazy was shown placing an order from them in the documentary series BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star, the Korean fried chicken company Chicken Plus experienced a sharp increase in sales.

On January 16, 2024, the Korea Customs Service said that the expected export value of ramen, a popular K-food, in 2023 was $952 million (about 1.2 trillion won), a 24% increase from the previous year and a record high. China allegedly exported $199.48 million worth of ramen between January and November of 2023, with the United States ranking in second with $105.71 million. Japan, Malaysia, and the Netherlands were third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.

Curiously, Jimin’s fame extends beyond that, since his restaurant trips have also resulted in a tenfold rise in patronage, just like they did for the Japanese eatery CoCo Ichibanya. The global popularity of BTS and their influence on the international music scene contributed to the Hallyu wave, which has greatly expanded interest in Korean food and cuisine.

Jimin’s fame caused the BTS ARMY to go crazy since Harvard University included him in a case study. As a result, fans showered the Serendipity singer with compliments on Twitter.

Expansion of Korean Culture

The industry is expanding its facilities to boost output in order to meet demand from outside. Nongshim built a second facility in the United States in California in 2022, and it plans to add one more line in the second part of this year. Miryang Factory 1, an export-oriented production facility, has allegedly been operated by Samyang Foods since May 2023. The projected completion date of Miryang Factory 2 is 2025.

As a result of Jimin mentioning them, Chicken Plus and CoCo Ichibanya have both experienced enormous increases in sales and earnings. Due to the expansion of Korea’s K-culture, which has grown to become a major cultural force worldwide, K-food has become well-known worldwide.

Since they frequently choose to shop at eateries and cafés that are favoured by BTS members, the BTS ARMY has also contributed to this movement.

As of January 30, 2024, Jimin’s solo debut album Face included the single “Like Crazy,” which peaked at No. 68 on Spotify Daily Top Songs Global. This is other news. Since December 12, 2023, the celebrity has been serving in the military, and he won’t be seen in public until June 2025.
