Jind is one of the 90 constituencies to go for polls for Haryana Legislative Assembly on October 21. Jind falls under Sonipat Lok Sabha constituency of Haryana. Hari Chand Middha is the current MLA of Jind.

In the 2014 Haryana Vidhan Sabha (Haryana Legislative Assembly) Elections, INLD candidate Hari Chand Middha defeated BJP’ Surinder Singh Barwala.

Out of the 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana, 17 are reserved for Scheduled Castes as per the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008.
