J&K: Three soldiers killed, four injured in a terrorists attack in Shopian

Three army soldiers were killed and 4 other were injured – two, critically in an attack by militants’ in Shopian area in south Kashmir in the early hours of Thursday morning. The army confirmed the attack. A spokesperson said that other particulars were being ascertained.

One female civilian was also killed in the firing, which is a fourth such encounter in three weeks.

As per the police, an army patrol party in Mulu Chitragam area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district came under fire on Wednesday night. Six personnel of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles were injured in the attack.

Soon, a search operation was carried out in Kungnoo in Shopian by the 44RR and police.

The attack occurred around 2am when the patrol party was returning. A woman sustained bullet injuries in the exchange of fire but died on the way to hospital, sources said.

Search and combing operations are proceeding to find the terrorists. Security forces have cordoned off the area.
