Just hours ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jaipur, miscreants have attacked the bus carrying beneficiaries of the government schemes to the capital of Rajasthan.

Two persons were injured in the firing incident and have been rushed to the hospital.

The beneficiaries were on their way to Jaipur from Jaisalmer when the bus was stopped and attacked in Gangwar.

PM Modi is scheduled to meet with these beneficiaries of welfare schemes at a rally in Jaipur today. A gathering of about 2.5 lakh beneficiaries is expected across 12 schemes run by the BJP government at the Centre and in the state.

The BJP is facing a crucial assembly election in Rajasthan later this year.

The state government has arranged 5,579 buses to bring people to the Amrudo Ka Bagh stadium in Jaipur. The largest number of buses are planned to arrive from Alwar, Udaipur and Ajmer districts. In Jaipur district alone, 532 buses are expected to ferry the beneficiaries to the venue.
