Patrick Riley, her older brother, tragically died in a vehicle accident when Kandi Burruss was only 15 years old. Her father was a minister. Burruss graduated from Tri-Cities High School in 1994. At the age of 15, she made her first television appearance on the B.E.T. series Teen Summit.
