Kangana Ranaut has signed on to play the role of Chandramukhi in yet another blockbuster film.
The actress will appear as the titular character in the sequel to the blockbuster film ‘Chandramukhi,’ titled ‘Chandramukhi 2’ and directed by P Vasu.
Rajinikanth and Jyothika Saravanan starred in the original version.
Kangana will play Chandramukhi, a world-renowned dancer at a king’s court known for her dancing abilities and breathtaking beauty.
Raghava Lawrence, a well-known Tamil actor, will be seen opposite Kangana in what is expected to be a massive cinematic experience. The sketch created by costume designer Neeta Lulla, an acclaimed National award winner for multiple films, adds to the intrigue.
Neeta Lulla stated when contacted, “To create a character who exudes and portrays the spirit of dance in every adaa — her looks, hair, stance, and walk exude and portray the spirit of dance. That is Chandramukhi to me. The film will be both beautiful and difficult to watch. I’m thrilled to be working with Kangana again on this project. According to sources, “Kangana will begin shooting the film’s first schedule in the first week of December. The actress will take a short break from ‘Emergency,’ and the second schedule of ‘Chandramukhi 2’ will begin in January, following the conclusion of ‘Emergency.'”
According to sources, ‘Chandramukhi 2’ is produced by one of the biggest production houses, Lyca Films, who also produced ‘Ponniyin Selvan-1.’
“Kangana is thrilled to do her next Tamil film after huge acceptance for ‘Thalaivii,’ and she is looking forward to this very cinematic character,” according to sources close to Kangana.
In terms of upcoming films, Kangana will be seen in ‘Tejas,’ where she will play an air force pilot, and in ‘Emergency,’ where she will play former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She also has Noti Binodini’s biopic in the works.
