In an appalling incident, a 25-year-old youth beheaded his father after he allegedly restricted him from playing mobile game PUBG. The incident happened at Siddeshwar Nagar in Kakati village of Belagavi in the wee hours of Monday. Reportedly the accused also sliced his father’s hand and leg.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Devappa Kumbhar (61) and the son who is now arrested is identified as Raghuveer Kumbhar. As per close sources, the accused, student of polytechnic was poor in studies and had failed thrice in exams.
Sources also added that addiction to the mobile game as well as suspected drug abuse is said to be the reason behind his failure which was upsetting his parents.
As per reports, on Sunday evening the accused has demanded money for the game from his father, which he denied. Irked over the same, the accused created a ruckus at his home and he also broke the window panes of one of his neighbor’s house on the same night.
The neighbors had informed the police who then nabbed him and took him to the police station. Shankar reached there at a time when police were warning him that they would take strict action if he creates a nuisance for people around. Before bringing home, Shankar had also scolded him at the police station.
On Monday at about 4:30 am, Shankar realized that Raghuveer was still playing PUBG on his mobile phone. Irked over the same, the deceased came out of his bedroom and snatched a mobile phone from Rahuveer. He became furious and allegedly assaulted Shankar.
Raghuveer latched the bedroom in which his mother was sleeping and attacked his father beheading him with a sickle and later he even sliced away one of his legs.
Police have rushed to the spot and arrested the accused.
