Kerala announces SSLC and Plus Two exam dates

Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan confirmed that schools in Kerala are set to open from June 1,2020 after the summer vacations end.

Kerala Education Department has announced the exam dates for pending exams for Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and Higher Secondary (Class 11, 12) exams from May 21. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister announced that Kerala Pareeksha Bhawan is making preparations for examinations to be held from May 21 to May 29. He also added that evaluation of exam papers will begin on May 13. Meanwhile, Director of Higher Education(DHE) Kerala has decided not to conduct exams for classes 8 and 9.

The exams were postponed amid the nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak.

Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan also confirmed that schools in Kerala are set to open from June 1,2020 after the summer vacations end. He added that in case, due to prevailing circumstances the re-opening of school is delayed, the state government plans to conduct special educational programmes for students will be conducted from June 1 through Victors channel. He also directed DTH providers to ensure that Victors Channel is available to the students.

“Mobile and web facilities will be available for these classes. For those students who don’t have these options, special facilities will be made,” he added.

He also said the training programme which was going on before the lockdown was announced for the 81,609 primary teachers will be completed and the vacation-time training programme for primary-upper primary teachers through Victor’s channel will begin from May 14.
