Days after the widespread criticism of the deteriorating law and order condition, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan directed the state’s 14 District Collectors to ensure the arrest of 2,010 goons listed by the intelligence wing in 30 days time.

The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) have demanded that Vijayan should hand over the Home portfolio to another minister as he has failed to handle the police department effectively.

The recent attack against popular film actress in Kochi by a gang had forced Kerala government to come out with the order.

Alappuzha district topped the list with 336 goons, followed by Kannur (305) and Thiruvananthapuram (266).

The goons will be booked under the Kerala Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act.

Few days ago, popular actress Bhavana was allegedly abducted and then molested in a moving car. The actress was travelling to dubbing studio from her home when a group of unidentified men stepped into her car and allegedly abducted her.

Kerala police registered case against the accused under under Sections 366 (kidnapping), 376 (rape) of IPC and Section 66 of the IT Act. Two persons were arrested in the case and police issued a look out notice against the main accused, pulsar Suni.
