As the Kerala battles the fury of the flood raging across the state, state government have extended their helping hand in some or the other, and so has the Jammy and Kashmir government. The J&K government on Sunday announced Rs 2 crore financial assistance for the flood hit Kerala.
Adding to the aide, a renowned economist and founder member of PDP, Haseeb Drabu announced contribution of his monthly earnings towards the Kerala flood relief fund. Drabu said that the obligatory charity on the coming Eid will also be diverted to the relief fund.
Taking it to the Twitter, former J&K finance minister Drabu pointed out that on the last Eid Rs.455 crores were withdrawn from J&K Bank ATMs in the valley. Remembering the havoc state had faced in 2014, the PDP member said that “Eid withdraw only half and send the other half to Kerala Relief Fund.”

Meanwhile, N.N. Vohra, Governor Jammu and Kashmir, conveyed to Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, the sorrow and sincere sympathy of the people. Vohra also announced that suitable arrangements are being urgently put in place for the public of Jammu and Kashmir to contribute to the Kerala Flood Relief Fund.

Further, IAS topper Shah Faesal who is currently studying abroad put on his wall – “People of Kerala have done a lot for us during September 2014 floods. It is now our turn to help our brothers and sisters in distress.”
Meanwhile, a report from Chandigarh said Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur pitched in to help the flood-hit Kerala and announced to provide relief of Rs five crore to the state.
