Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal has taken another shocking turn, with Pune Rural Police claiming that the two accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, meticulously planned the crime days in advance.
According to investigators, the duo allegedly conducted a rehearsal at Lohagad Fort, searched Google and YouTube for different methods of killing, and even prepared responses in case they were questioned by the police after the incident. According to police sources, the first attempt to kill Agarwal was allegedly made on June 14. The latest revelations have emerged from forensic analysis of digital evidence and questioning of the accused.
Ketan Agarwal Murder Case
Police sources allege that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary visited Lohagad Fort several days before Ketan Agarwal’s death to rehearse how the alleged murder would be carried out.
Investigators said the pair had scouted several places and deliberated where to stand so Ketan Agarwal would reportedly be pushed off the valley. They are also believed to have rehearsed the method so the death appeared to be a freak accident. Investigators claim that it was these rehearsals that cemented a key aspect of what they describe as a cold and deliberate plan, a part of the investigation that is yet to be tested in court.

Google and YouTube Searches
Among one of the key pieces of evidence provided to the investigation is the collection of all digital data extracted from the suspects’ mobile phones.
Police have also examined chats exchanged on June 18 and analysed nearly 2,004 calls, amounting to approximately 238 hours of conversations between January and June through regular calls, WhatsApp and FaceTime, which they consider key digital evidence.
According to police, a forensic exam had allegedly discovered search results on both Google and YouTube on different methods used to kill a person. Investigators stated the suspects considered various options before they allegedly concluded pushing Ketan Agarwal off the Lohagad Fort would be the simplest way to present his death as accidental.
The investigation further reveals that the two are alleged to have decided in advance on their responses if questioned about what occurred. The investigators stated the police believe the pair also devised ways to prevent suspicion, including wearing disguises during the execution of the crime.
Digital Evidence Under the Scanner
Police have previously stated that thousands of phone calls, WhatsApp communications, FaceTime conversations, deleted messages, and location data are being examined.

According to police, Siya and co-accused Chetan allegedly met at a Pune café on June 17, where they finalised the murder plan. CCTV footage reportedly shows the two together before the incident.
Family Response
Investigators say the technical evidence points towards extensive communication between the accused in the months leading up to the incident. The police maintain that the collected digital evidence supports their theory that the murder was pre-planned.
A family member said, “When the other party, Siya Goyal’s entire family, came regarding the wedding, they were told everything about Ketan; nothing was hidden from them. If she had any issues, why didn’t she say so?”
The family member added, “She spent so much time with him – going out, dining together, doing everything – so why didn’t she raise any objections then? Our only question is: if she didn’t like our son, why didn’t she just say ‘no’ on the very first day?”
“We simply want justice for our child and our family; that is all we expect from the government,” the family member said.
