Khagaria Lok Sabha Constituency, Bihar: Current MP, Candidates, Polling Date and Election Results

Khagaria is one of the five constituencies in Bihar to go on polls in the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections 2019 on Tuesday, April 22. Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) an ally of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has fielded incumbent MP Mehboob Ali Kaiser, while the Mahagathbandhan’s Vikasheel Insan Party (VIP) has fielded Mukesh Sahni from this seat.

In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Ali Kaiser had won from Khagaria Lok Sabha seat on the LJP ticket. He had defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Krishna Yadav

The voting for Bihar’s 40 Parliamentary seats will take place in seven phases beginning April 11. The last phase will be held on May 19.

According to Election Commission of India 2009 data, the Khagaria Lok Sabha seat has a total of 1,342,970 electorates out of which 630,898 are females, while 712,072 are males.

Khagaria Lok Sabha constituency comprised the following six Vidhan Sabha (legislative assembly) segments: Simri Bakhtiarpur, Hasanpur, Alauli, Khagaria, Beldaur, Parbatta

In Phase III of the voting for the 17th Lok Sabha, elections will take place in 115 Lok Sabha constituencies across 14 states. Voting for this phase will take place on April 23. While, like all the other phases, counting will take place in May 23.

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, voting will also take place for the third phase of Odisha Assembly Elections 2019. The turnout in the last general election in 2014 was more than 66%, up from 45% in 1951 when the first election was held.
