A massive march of farmers gathers at Delhi-Up border. Security arrangements are beefed up as the Bhartiya Kisan Union(BKU) led protest ‘Kisan Kranti Padyatra’ is ready to enter Delhi. Thousands of farmers under the banner of BKU are participating in this movement.

The aim of this Yatra is the demand for a complete loan waiver for farmers. They are also seeking lower electricity tariff for farmers including other demands.

Kisan Kranti Padyatra: Traffic advisory for East Delhi residents and commuters, section 144 imposed


More than 30000 farmers are participating in this yatra. They are traveling in around 2000 tractors and trolleys. Traffic movement is badly hit in East Delhi area and Ghaziabad. Uttar Pradesh police have restricted traffic movement on NH-24 and through the UP-Delhi borders.


Commuters coming from Ghaziabad side and vice-versa are advised to take the alternate route and use Kondli village or Anand Vihar route.

The Bhartiya Kisan Union led yatra started from Haridwar in Uttarakhand, is all set to hit national capital as UP police failed to stop them. Commuters traveling to and fro on this route faced the ordeal and shared their experience on social site Twitter. Heavy security has been deployed and roads are blocked.

Earlier on September 30, the Union had announced that their ‘Padyatra’ that has begun from Haridwar will reach the national capital on the occasion of the 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2.
