Loharu is one of the 90 constituencies to go for polls for Haryana Legislative Assembly on October 21. Loharu falls under Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha constituency of Haryana. Om Parkash Barwa is the current MLA of Loharu.

In the 2014 Haryana Vidhan Sabha (Haryana Legislative Assembly) Elections, INLD candidate Om Parkash Barwa defeated BJP’ Jai Parkash Dalal.

Out of the 90 Assembly constituencies in Haryana, 17 are reserved for Scheduled Castes as per the Delimitation of Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies Order, 2008.
