Madhya Pradesh has 29 constituencies, among which four are reserved for SCs and six for STs. Bhind, Tikamgarh, Dewas, and Ujjain are the ones reserved for SCs, while Shahdol, Mandla, Ratlam, Dhar, Khargone, and Betul are for STs.

The state went into polls in four phases: Phase IV, Phase V, Phase VI, Phase VII, on April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19 respectively.

In the recently concluded Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, in a closely fought battle Congress edged pass Bharatiya Janata Party going on to form government with support from Gondvana Gantantra Party and Samajwadi Party.
