After the BJP released the 1st list of candidates for the Sikkim Legislative Assembly elections and the 2nd list for Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, the ruling party announced the name of its candidates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections at 7 pm on Thursday, 21 March.

182 candidates have been announced across 20 states

The Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora announced the schedule for the Lok Sabha election on March 10 at a press conference at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Election Commission of India had announced that the general elections will begin on April 11, with the last phase taking place on May 19, the counting of votes is slated to take place on May 23.

This time, more than 900 million people above the age of 18 are expected to cast their ballots at a million polling stations. Of the total electorate, 15 million will be in the age group of 18 to 19 years.
