Jaipur: One of the prominent Rajasthan leaders who has played a significant part in the establishment of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ghanshyam Tiwari is likely to join the Congress party in Jaipur on Tuesday.

Tiwari could join the grand old party in the presence of party chief Rahul Gandhi, who is scheduled to meet party workers in Jaipur’s Ramlila Maidan on Tuesday, March 26.

Tiwari quit from the BJP in June 2018, following which he floated Bharat Vahini Party ahead of the 2018 Rajasthan Assembly elections. In the elections, he had unsuccessfully contested from Sanganer seat.

Ghanshyam Tiwari is a six-time MLA and has won the Sanganer seat three times consecutively before tasting defeat in the 2018 Assembly elections.

Tiwari was one of the founders of BJP in Rajasthan. He played a significant role in establishing the BJP in Rajasthan. Due to his responsible attitude and effective appeal in the public, Tiwari was given multiple roles in the party.

Rajasthan will vote in two phases (Fourth and Fifth) to elect 25 MPs for the 17th Lok Sabha, the voting in the state will take place on April 29 and May 6.

On April 29, 13 Lok Sabha constituencies from Rajasthan will go to elections, while the remaining 12 Rajasthan Lok Sabha constituencies will elect MPs on May 6.

In 2014 Lok Sabha elections all 25 Lok Sabha seats from the state where won by the BJP.
