In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old boy was shot at in the head by a personal guard when the boy tried to climb up the wall of a businessman’s house while searching for his lost cricket ball. As per the reports, the incident took place in Gorakhnath area of Uttar Pradesh on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Arvind Kumar who was shot in the head by guard Sumit Singh with his double-barrel rifle. Reports claims that Kumar was playing outside the premises of Chandra Prakash Aggarwal, a top businessman of the city who owns manufacturing unit of Gallant Sariya in Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority.
While they were playing, the ball went inside the building following which Arvind climbed the boundary wall to take it back. On seeing him scaling the wall, the guard opened fire at him. Hearing the gunshot, locals rushed to the spot and tried to catch the accused but he managed to escape.
Soon after this, Arvind was rushed to BRD Medical College from where he was referred to Lucknow’s SGPGI in a critical condition.
As quoted in the reports, SHO Gorakhnath said, “We have registered a case against the accused on the basis of complaint filed by the victim’s father. The law will take its course.”
According to locals, the victim had passed his Class XII exam and ran a vegetable shop.
