In Madhya Pradesh, a debt-ridden farmer from Khargon district allegedly killed himself by consuming pesticide on Wednesday morning.

As per the reports, the family of the deceased claimed that 34-year-old Rohidas Banjara had taken loan from moneylenders and now was not able to payback,

The moneylenders were constantly pressuring Banjara but the burden of debt forced him to take extreme steps following which he committed suicide.

Mother Nirabai and wife Girija Bai alleged that Das took a loan of about two lakh rupees from two moneylenders. Committees and banks also have debt on the family. The family has about eight acres of land, which is now under the name of the father.

Reportedly, the deceased farmer had appealed for loan waiver or at least more time granted.

Police officials have sent the body of the deceased for the post mortem and a probe in the matter is underway.
