Arun Subhashchandra Yadav, who has taken the biggest political mission of his life and has created a fear of defeat among the Saffron side, is gaining limelight in political circles of Madhya Pradesh for various reasons. Congress party on November 8 decided to field former Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief Arun Yadav against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Budhni in Sehore district, which surprised several political experts of Madhya Pradesh and they stated the step as ‘Masterstroke’ by Congress.

According to sources, since party’s both major candidates for Chief Minister post, Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia are not contesting elections, conversely, Rahul Gandhi’s close aide Arun Yadav, who is giving a tough fight to BJP in CM’s constituency could achieve the final goal.

Soon after the declaration of Congress party for Budhni assembly, Arun Yadav started his campaign and stated that “Budhni is the headquarters of sand mining in the state. In the CMs home district, the maximum farmer suicides have taken place in the state.”

Shivraj Singh Chouhan led BJP government is facing resentments from the agrarian community, while Arun Yadav, who is the son of former Deputy Chief Minister Subhash Yadav, is recognised as the significant farmer leader in Madhya Pradesh. Arun Yadav has served as Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief from January 2014 to August 2018 and played a vital role in the escalation of the party at the grassroots level. As a fact, soon after Lok Sabha election 2014, Arun Yadav was highly vocal against Shivraj Singh Chouhan over Vyapam issue and single-handedly dented BJP in several by-polls of the state.

Speaking on the lines of Chief Minister’s face, Arun Yadav stated that “Our party has a policy of not projecting chief ministerial faces. The entire party works together and ensures under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi that we remove the BJP from power here. Once the counting is done and we are ready to form the government, the high command will decide”.
