Madhya Pradesh: Senior Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi to campaign for Samajwadi Party

Nitin Chaturvedi, son of senior Congress leader and former Member of Parliament (MP) Satyavrat Chaturvedi, is contesting from Rajnagar in Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh under the banner of Samajwadi Party (SP). Nitin Chaturvedi filed his papers in the presence of his father and a group of supporters on Thursday.

Satyavrat Chaturvedi has expressed his resentment against Congress ‘openly’ after the denial of a ticket to his son and announced that he would campaign for Nitin Chaturvedi.

SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav had announced that Congress detractors are welcome into his party.

Speaking on the lines of  Congress, Satyavrat stated that “I am still a Congress member. Congress has been repeating the same mistake (of ignoring his son) for 15 years. Doing injustice is the sin, and tolerating injustice is equally sinful. So my son took the decision to go to the people’s court”.

Nitin Chaturvedi alleged that Congress has adopted a callous attitude towards grassroots-level workers. Congress has fielded Vikram Singh Natiraja, a three-time MLA, from Rajnagar.
