Maharashtra 2026 Public Holidays:Entering into the year 2026, the Government of Maharashtra has brought out the public holiday calendar officially, thus granting clarity and foresight to the citizens, institutions, and businesses all over the state. The calendar comprises 24 public holidays that are to be observed in all state government offices, municipal bodies, and local administrative units.
The Government in 2026 has made the holiday calendar perfectly with national observances, culturally significant dates, and religious festivals that are widely celebrated. The list which starts with the Republic Day on January 26 a signifier of the constitutional heritage of India goes all the way through the year and includes not only universal but also regionally important celebrations.

Bank Holiday & Institutional Planning
Besides the public holidays, April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) has been marked as a bank holiday to ease annual audit closing and financial reconciliation. This holiday is applicable only to banks and does not cover government offices, whereas the other 24 holidays have already been given to all the government offices as well.
