Bhoiwada police in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi on Sunday arrested a man for raping and murdering a seven-year-old girl.
The accused identified as Bharat Kumar Kori, is said to have lured the girl with ice-cream and taken her to an isolated place where he raped her and then stoned her to death.
According to the reports, the man allegedly sexually assaulted her before crushing her face with a stone and killing her as he feared that she would identify him.

“He was afraid that the girl might give his name away as he knew the family well and use to visit them often,” Karpe said.
A case was registered against Kori under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder), 376 (rape), 302 (Punishment for murder) and also under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Bhoiwada police station.
