Tomorrow, February 18, Mahashivratri will be observed by devotees of Lord Shiva throughout India. In regions of India from Kashmir to Tamil Nadu, devotees will conduct a variety of rituals. The Hindu celebration of Maha Shivratri, which honours the mighty Lord Shiva and his wife, the Goddess Parvati, is one of the most important holidays. Their wedding night is commemorated as Maha Shivratri. This year, Mahashivaratri will be celebrated on February 18, a Saturday.

In India, the majority of banks are closed on state-specific holidays, while others remain open on national holidays. On national holidays such as Republic Day, Independence Day, and Gandhi Jayanti, all banks are closed. During holidays such as Mahashivaratri, state-specific bank holidays are observed.
