Manmohan Singh donates one month salary to Kerala Chief Minister Distress Relief Fund

Former Prime Minister and Member of Parliament Dr Manmohan Singh has announced to donate his one month salary to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to help the flood victims rebuild their lives. Apart from this, Rs one crore from MP fund will lo be given for the relief operations. The God’s own Country is in the midst of unprecedented flood havoc. The calamity has caused immeasurable misery and devastation.

Earlier, Congress president Rahul Gandhi had requested all the party members to extend financial support to the flood victims in Kerala. Till Monday, the CMDRF has received Rs 713.92 crores as the donation.

Most amounts of donation were transferred through the CMDRF payment gateway and UPI. As much as an amount of Rs 132.68 crores was donated through these modes whereas, the amount of Rs 43 crores were received through Paytm.

Citibank is providing an additional Rs 500 for each donation of over Rs 250 that is made using their card through their website. This extra amount will directly be transferred to the CM’s distress relief fund. Flipkart and Myntra have also announced their contributions by collecting through a voluntary organisation and by providing publicity for the CMDRF donations, respectively.
