MG Comet EV: The MG Comet EV has been winning hearts since the day it came out in India. People really liked it because it was small in size but still had a lot of space inside. When it was first launched, it came at a price between ₹7.99 lakh and ₹10.55 lakh (on-road), which made it quite attractive.
But now MG has decided to raise the prices, not just of the car itself, but also for the battery rental cost. If someone wants to buy it now, they will need to pay ₹15,000 more than before. And the battery rent under MG’s Battery-as-a-Service program has also gone up from ₹2.9 per km to ₹3.1 per km making the overall cost higher than before.

Even with this price increase, MG hasn’t made any changes to the features in the car. It still has the same cool stuff like two big 10.25-inch screens one works like the instrument panel behind the steering wheel, and the other is a touchscreen for music, navigation, and apps. Y
You can connect your phone with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other things are also the same like the 4-speaker audio system, manual air conditioning, side mirrors that fold with the press of a button, power windows, and a push-button start with keyless entry. Nothing new has been added in terms of features.
MG Comet EV: Revised Prices
Now that prices are changed, the MG Comet Executive version costs ₹7.50 lakh, which is ₹14,000 more than what it was earlier, ₹7.36 lakh. The Excite and Excite Fast Charging models also became more costly, with a hike of ₹15,000 each, reported NDTV. The Excite model is now priced at ₹8.57 lakh, and the Fast Charging one is ₹8.97 lakh. MG is still trying to get more people interested in the car, so they added a few things like a rear parking camera and power-folding mirrors to help make driving and parking easier.
New Features
The car still runs on the same 17.3 kWh battery, and you can go around 230 km on one full charge. The battery gives power to a motor that makes 42 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque. Charging from zero to 80% using a 3.3kW charger takes about 5.5 hours, and charging all the way to 100% takes 7 hours. There’s no change in that either.

For those choosing the Exclusive and Exclusive Fast Charging models, MG has made the inside look a bit more premium by putting leatherette seats and giving a 4-speaker audio system for better sound. The fast charging variants now come with a slightly different 17.4 kWh battery, but they still give the same maximum range of 230 km, so that part hasn’t changed.
