The legendary beauty contest has an estimated 500 million viewers, making it one of the most-watched international events. This year, 86 contestants will compete at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center for the title of Miss Universe.
After a hiatus of 21 years, India’s Harnaaz Sandhu won the 70th Miss Universe pageant, bringing the crown back home. She is the third Indian to win Miss Universe, following Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta.
Now, the scene is prepared for the 71st edition of this beauty pageant, and ‘Miss Universe India’ Divita Rai will be competing alongside 86 other women for the title.

The Miss Universe competition will be held on January 15 at 6:30 a.m. (IST). According to Eastern Time, the event will take place on Saturday, January 14 at 8 p.m.
Viewers in India can stream the event live on Voot or on the official Facebook and YouTube accounts for the JKN18 channel.
Outside of India, the live stream will be available at 7 p.m. ET on the Roku Channel website or on Telemundo in Spanish at the same time.
Later, on January 18, the official Miss Universe YouTube account will webcast the Miss Universe national costume show.
This year’s Miss Universe competition will not be hosted by Steve Harvey, who gained notoriety for declaring the erroneous winner in 2015 and persuading Harnaaz Sandhu to meow like a cat.
Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo and Hollywood actress Jeannine Mai Jenkins will serve as this year’s hosts. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and ‘Access Hollywood’ contributor Zuri Hall will serve as backstage commentators.
