Indian women ODI skipper and experienced batswoman Mithali Raj were recently seen breaking stereotypes when she played cricket in a saree for a television advertisement for a leading multi-national brand. Mithali Raj was carrying a Saree for a promotional campaign ahead of Women’s Day 2020.
The video has been doing rounds on social media and everyone is all praises for the 37-year-old.
The video was shared by Mastercard India on Twitter. Mithali can be seen playing a range of strokes while sporting full cricket gear. The video was shared after India women’s team under Harmanpreet Kaur qualified for their first-ever T20 World Cup final.

Meanwhile, Mastercard India congratulated Indian women’s cricket team while posting the video of Mithali playing cricket in saree and wrote “Congratulations to the Women’s Cricket Team of #India on reaching the T20 World Cup finals! We are proud of you and wish you the very best for the finals!”
Last year, Mithali bid adieu to the shortest format of the game in order to shift her focus entirely on her preparations for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021. So far, Mithali has appeared in 89 T20Is, 209 ODIs and 10 Tests for India, amassing a total of 9,951 runs in it.
