In a gruesome incident reported, a leading orthopedic doctor identified as Sunil Mantri, allegedly murdered his driver, chopped body into over a dozen pieces and then immersed them in acid at his residence in a bid to destroy the evidence. As per the reports, the accused had an affair with the victim’s wife.
The incident took place in Anandnagar area of Hoshangabad.
After killing the driver, accused Mantri used a saw to dismember the body and chopped it off into small pieces. He used domestic utensils and water pots to dispose these body parts in acid.
The police team recovered an acid-filed drum from doctor’s residence and found him chopping off the body when his house was raided. The police would now excavate the sewage line to recover the remaining body parts.

The police have seized acid cane and four saws from the residence. The police team had tough time preserving the body parts dipped in acid. It is suspected that the wife of the dead driver was also involved in the murder.
Officials told that Mantri’s wife had died in April, 2017, and his 26-year old son and 23-year-old daughter work in Mumbai. After since his wife passed away, Mantri was living all alone in his two storied house in Anand Nagar. He posted at the civil hospital in Itarsi.
