Muzaffarnagar: After losing from his traditional Baghpat constituency in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Ajit Singh, chief of Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) is now aiming at the Muzaffarnagar seat as a candidate of the SP-BSP-RLD alliance. The Bharatiya Janata Party Incumbent BJP MP Sanjeev Kumar Balyan will hope to retain Muzaffarnagar seat.

The Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will take place across seven phases, with eight constituencies to go for elections in the first phase on April 11, as announced by the Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora on March 10.

The Election Commission of India announced that the general elections will begin on April 11, with the last phase taking place on May 19, the results are slated to be announced on May 23.

Uttar Pradesh has a total of 80 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Elections in the Muzaffarnagar constituency will take place in the first phase of the General Elections 2019 on April 11.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections BJP’ Sanjeev Kumar Balyan defeated BSP’ Kadir Rana.

Number of voters polled in 2014: 11,07,434
