National Daughters Day 2023: The 25th of September is National Daughters Day, a day to honor and cherish our daughters, who bring so much love and joy into our lives. Even though we don’t need an excuse to celebrate our children, it’s nice to have an excuse to show our daughters how much we care.
WHY IS NATIONAL DAUGHTER’S DAY CELEBRATED?
On National Daughter Day, we remember to show unconditional love to the guardian of our family’s trust: our beautiful, witty, creative, and occasionally demanding daughters. Especially for aging parents, a daughter maintains a level of connection and commitment that keeps families healthy. (Of course, this does not mean that sons do not contribute. Today, however, we’ll be discussing only daughters!

Yes, October 6 is an entire day dedicated to parents giving their daughters extra pocket money. If your parents do not believe in this holiday, you should forward this message to them to set them straight.
WHAT IS THE DATE OF NATIONAL DAUGHTER’S DAY IN 2023?
National Daughters Day is celebrated annually on September 25. There are numerous holidays that occur around the same time, including World Daughters Day on September 28 and National Daughters Day in some countries on October 1.
The background of National Daughters’ Day
The origin of this day’s significance may have originated in India. According to the Hindustan Times: “Unlike other countries, there has always been a stigma attached to being a girl child in India, and while this may no longer be the case in India’s major cities, it is still quite prevalent throughout the country.” When a woman delivers a girl, she is punished.” While many developing nations view daughters as a burden, other countries celebrate them.
This day may also be viewed in the context of the #metoo movement, particularly in the United States, where women have faced formidable obstacles throughout history. Historically, women have been viewed as inferior to men. In eighteenth-century Anglo-American society, the law did not recognize the independence of wives in economic, political, or civic matters.
The era was dominated by male privilege. Before 1920, women did not have the right to vote. Prior to the 1960s, wives stayed at home while their husbands worked. In many ways, the United States is still sweeping away vestiges of gender discrimination.
HOW DOES NATIONAL DAUGHTERS DAY DIFFER FROM NATIONAL SON AND DAUGHTER DAY?
We might view this in the context of the #metoo movement — especially in the U.S. Throughout U.S. history, women have faced formidable obstacles. Historically, women have been viewed as inferior to men. In eighteenth-century Anglo-American society, the law did not recognize the independence of wives in economic, political, or civic matters. The era was dominated by male privilege. This is a crucial time to focus solely on girls.
With so much emphasis historically placed on the value of sons (particularly in terms of inheritance), the status of having a daughter has frequently been diminished. In royalty, lines of succession have always flowed from father to son, although this tradition has recently been abandoned by today’s British Royal Family — if the first child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is a girl, she would automatically enter the line of succession as a future queen!
