New Year’s Eve 2023: Prepare for the new year with an exuberance of oohs and aahs as pyrotechnics illuminate the downtown sky at midnight on Sunday.
The Crescent City Countdown Club, a non-profit organization, will produce a pyrotechnic panorama that will color and crackle to the beat of music.
The spectacle will be observable from both banks of the Mississippi River, and restaurants, high-rise establishments, and bars will be hosting reveler-oriented special events.
The project, which is organized in collaboration with the New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund and the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy, is supported by numerous local organizations, such as the Berger & Tiller Families, J&M Displays, the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, and local media. A sponsor of the Allstate Sugar Bowl as well.

The pyrotechnics constitute a prominent element of the evening, which is jam-packed with parties and events in the vicinity, including the buildup to Monday’s gridiron action.
A salute to the Texas Longhorns and the Washington Huskies, who will meet in the Sugar Bowl later on Monday at the Caesars Superdome, will be included in the pyrotechnics.
Sunday at 2:30 p.m., members of the bands, spirit groups, and teams will participate in a parade through the French Quarter in the manner of Carnival.
