A 50-year-old woman, who worked as an Anganwadi worker, was allegedly raped and an iron road was inserted in her private parts by the accused. The shocking case was reported in the Ughaiti area of Uttar Pradesh’s Budaun district. According to Times of India, the incident allegedly took place in a place of worship.
An FIR (First Information Report) was registered on Tuesday after the post-mortem report confirmed that the woman had sustained several injuries. The autopsy report confirmed than an iron rod was inserted into her private parts which punctured her lungs. The victim’s ribs were also broken and her death is attributed to excessive bleeding.
The woman had gone to place of worship on Sunday but never returned home, her husband said. Cops have booked a priest and his two disciples under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 302 (murder) and 376-d (gang-rape).
“The post-mortem has confirmed injuries on the private part and the reason for death is shock and haemorrhage due to antemortem injuries. The priest and his aides are missing. We have registered an FIR against them. We have deployed multiple teams to nab the accused,” a senior police officer was quoted as saying by the daily.
This incident has nudged the bad memories of 2012 Nirbhaya case where a paramedical student was brutally gang-raped inside a running bus in Delhi. She later succumbed to her injuries.
