Nitish proposes new, impossible seat sharing formula to BJP

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar seems to have proposed an impossible formula for BJP-JDU alliance in Bihar. According to sources, the formula was proposed to the BJP President Amit Shah during his visit to Patna last week.

As per the seat sharing formula being proposed by the Bihar Chief Minister, BJP and JDU will take 20 seats each out of the 40 parliament seats in the state. JDU will further accommodate Ram Vilas Paswan’s LJP from its quota of 20 seats while BJP will have to accommodate the other allies Upendra Kuswaha’s RLSP.

Now Amit Shah is here, all your leisure days are over: PM Modi to MPs

As of now, BJP has 22 MPs in Loksabha from Bihar while LJP has 6 and RLSP 2. As per the formula being proposed, BJP will get to contest maximum 17 seats assuming RLSP agrees to contest just 3 seats it had won last time.

It is to be seen how BJP reacts to letting go half dozen of its sitting MPs.
