A clip from the Malayalam edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati is doing rounds on social media in which BJP MP Suresh Gopi is in conversation with a contestant.
Hosting the new season of KBC’s Malayalam version, Gopi was interacting with a contestant named Sreejith on the fourth episode. The contestant was asked a question on the category of food ‘Ceylon’ and ‘Coin’ belong to, for which he used the lifeline of an audience poll and correctly answered as, ‘Parotta’.
Gopi asked Sreejith if he had ever eaten the famous dish and what he generally ordered when he visited a restaurant. To that, the contestant said he had, “Parotta and beef. ”
The BJP leader, in response, acknowledged with an “Oh.” Netizens were quick to point out the irony of the situation.

For those unversed of the irony quoted, in 2015, when Maharashtra imposed a beef ban across the state, Gopi had responded to media queries by categorically denying eating beef. He added that his family also doesn’t let beef inside their home, according to a media portal.
However, social media users were quick to find a video where he talks about consuming beef while on a visit to Zurich.
In the video, he explains how he gained weight as he only had the option of either eating pork or beef in Zurich and had to eat beef for four days as the pork was not of his choice.
