Operation to not let Delhi Govt work properly is being controlled by Amit Shah: AAP's Dilip Pandey

Aam Aadmi Party, which was formed during a movement against corruption suffered massive controversies in the year 2018, from staging a protest against Lieutenant Governor to the signature bridge incident with Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari. Since from the inception Aam Aadmi Party always believed in picking a tight spot over the sensitive issues. However, it worked for the political outfit in Delhi state but not outside the national capital.

Dilip Pandey, national spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party recently spoke to Newsd over all the issues of 2018 and attacked BJP and Modi government over adopting a callous attitude towards Delhi state government.

Here are the excerpts of the interview:

Q: First, it was Modi ji who was stalling the functioning of AAP government, then LG Najeeb Jung, who was replaced by Anil Baijal, but the bottleneck remained, and now IAS officers are accused by the CM and his cabinet of not cooperating. What should people of Delhi understand from this about their elected representatives and their commitments? (Please explain in detail)

Ans:  The message is clear and the people of Delhi know it well. Central Government of BJP run by the duo of Modi ji and Amit Shah ji are trying to stall the work of development being carried out by the Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi Government. The LG or some bureaucrats are just mediums; the operation to not let Delhi Government work properly is being controlled by the PMO and Amit Shah ji. Despite the vindictive agenda of the Modi-Shah duo, the Delhi Government has done so much for the people of Delhi. The people know that the BJP is taking revenge from them for voting for the AAP in 2015 elections. Let 2019 come and the people of Delhi will show them how much they hate the negative & vindictive politics of the BJP.

Q: Do you think all IAS officers, who are associated with Delhi state government are Modi bhakts to follow PMO’s diktat? Hasn’t the Delhi government failed in winning their bureaucrats trust and confidence?

Ans: As I already said in answer to your first question, they are just mediums. The IAS Officers working in Delhi are controlled by the Central government. Whosoever works for the betterment of Delhi is threatened by the central government. They are threatened by the centre through various agencies like CBI, IT etc. They are threatened of their ‘career’. Not all IAS officers are pro-Modi, but they are controlled by them and are under constant threat.

Q: On November 4, Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari got into a brawl with the Aam Aadmi Party workers during the inauguration ceremony of the Signature Bridge. Do you think, it was a political stunt by Manoj Tiwari to catch the limelight?

Ans: Manoj Tiwari ji and his party are basically against welfare & development of Delhi. Signature Bridge is a project which comes as a boon for a huge number of citizens of Delhi. It is also a mechanical marvel. It was delayed for years and the AAP Government anchored by the Chief Minister worked hard to get it completed against all roadblocks created by the BJP. Manoj Tiwari ji behaved like a goon at the inauguration of the bridge and tried to attack the Chief Minister. It was a very cheap step taken by him to gain media publicity.

Q: In last one year, many political stalwarts including Ashutosh, Ashish Khetan and many others have left the party. How do you see all these developments affecting the reputation and identity of AAP as a political party?

Ans: They have returned to their respective professions. They worked hard with the party and we are still like brothers. They contributed a lot to the party and we respect that. They are like brothers. We should not forget that middle-class people have the compulsion to run their families.

‘Undeclared emergency’ in India under BJP rule, says Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal

Q: Coming to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, you have disclaimed your position against the PM Modi and BJP. What opposition will you ask people to think of when you tell them not to vote for BJP and its partners?

Ans: BJP and Modi ji have inflicted multiple pains on the people of Delhi. The people of Delhi know how the Modi-Shah duo has worked hard against projects for their welfare. Sealing ruined the businesses-industry and rendered people jobless. Demonetization and GST further came as a blow. We have worked for the people of Delhi. Free water, cheapest power, world-class government schools, world-class Mohalla Clinics, better and free universal healthcare, zero tolerance to corruption are some of the key subjects which the people of Delhi know well. BJP has not only ruined the social fabric of the society but has also trampled the lives of the common man.

Q:  Will AAP go into upcoming Lok Sabha elections complaining about the Centre, LG and IAS officers not cooperating with it or AAP has other agendas for parliament elections and does the party think that will get them Delhites’ trust again?  (Please explain in detail)

Ans: The people of Delhi know how BJP & Modi’s government has scuttled the progress of Delhi. We are reaching out to the people of Delhi with what we have done for them in the years we have been in power. People know and our work speaks for itself. Go to any school and see the change, world leaders are visiting and appreciating our Mohalla Clinics. The people of Delhi trust us as we delivered on our promises and continue to do so.

Q:  What about Arvind Kejriwal’s statement that AAP will support BJP in 2019 LS polls if Delhi is given full statehood? What’s your current stand on this scenario?

Ans: It was a sarcastic comment. Please ask BJP to clear their stand. We will fight for the statehood of Delhi. We are not BJP who goes back on its manifesto promises again and again and later says that it was a Jumla.

Q: On December 11 at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, a crucial meeting took place ahead of Lok Sabha elections. Please tell us the findings of the meeting.

Ans: Internal meetings are not discussed with the media. It was an internal meeting of the party.

Q: Is Aam Aadmi Party planning to fight Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and also there were reports that, Parliamentarian Shatrughan Sinha would fight Lok Sabha elections under AAP banner? Please tell us the whole development in detail.

Ans: This is beyond my domain. I am in-charge of the North East Lok Sabha.

Q: There were reports that Atishi Marlena from East Delhi constituency, Raghav Chadha from New Delhi constituency and Dilip Pandey (you) from North East constituency has been finalized from the party for Lok Sabha elections. What’s your take on this?

Ans: The party has made us in-charge of the respective Lok Sabha’s.  The party will take a call on the final tickets at the right time.

Q: Is there any plan around floating a grand opposition alliance with Congress and Samajwadi Party in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab? Is your party in favour of forming a grand opposition alliance in Delhi with Congress?

Ans: As I already told you, this is beyond my domain.
