The Una district administration is actively enhancing its preparedness for potential monsoon-related disasters, as reported on Friday.

Over 800 civil defence volunteers have been registered, according to Una Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, highlighting the focus on strengthening departmental coordination and enhancing disaster management mechanisms.

These civil defence volunteers undergo rigorous training in fire-fighting, first aid, and search and rescue operations. This initiative aims to provide essential support to the authorities during emergency situations, ensuring efficient relief, rescue, and emergency coordination when disasters strike.

Efforts are also underway to involve more citizens in the campaign, as local authorities have been instructed to enhance mutual coordination, maintain an active early warning system, and guarantee the rapid exchange of crucial information.
