Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat: The people of Giridih and nearby areas are strongly asking the railways to stop the Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat train at Madhupur station. Madhupur is not just the main station of Giridih district but also serves passengers from Koderma and other nearby places. Locals say this stoppage is very important because thousands of people depend on Madhupur every single day.
The demand reached the Parliament too, after JMM Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sarfaraz Ahmed met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He told the minister that Madhupur must get a Vande Bharat halt because of the huge number of passengers who use the station.

He reminded that trains like the Rajdhani already stop here, so it is unfair that the Vande Bharat does not. He raised the matter inside the House also, but even after the minister’s assurance, no real progress has been made yet.
Local groups speaking up
Many people from the business community and local groups are now speaking openly in support of the demand. Hemant Narayan Singh, General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, said the stoppage will help traders a lot because it will give them easy and direct travel to both Patna and Kolkata.
Local resident Suraj Solanki also spoke strongly on the issue. He said, “For the convenience of people going to Howrah and Delhi, Vande Bharat train must have a stoppage at Madhupur. The MP is requested to take this matter seriously.”
Another passenger, Mukesh Sharma, said that people even requested MP Dr. Nishikant Dubey to help stop the Vande Bharat train at Madhupur.

Adding to this, Mayank Gutgutia, another resident, explained how this will also help railways earn more. According to Jagran Josh, he said, “If the Vande Bharat train stops at Madhupur, it will be very convenient for the traders of the area. At the same time, the revenue of the railways will also increase.”
Madhupur is the biggest junction of Giridih and already holds an important place on the Patna–Howrah route. It connects thousands of passengers from the region every day.
