 Holika Dahan in 2024 will occur on the following dates and times:

The Hindu festival of Holika Dahan, or Choti Holi, will be celebrated on March 24, 2024, marking the triumph of good over evil.

  • The Purnima Tithi begins at 09:54 am on March 24, 2024
  • End of Purnima Tithi: March 25, 2024 – 12:29 p.m.
  •  The Bhadra Punccha is scheduled for March 24, 2024 from 06:33 p.m. to 07:53 p.m.
  •  The Bhadra Mukha will occur on the 24th of March, 2024, from 07:53 PM until 1:06 AM (on the 25th of March, 2024).
  • On March 24, 2024, between 11:13 PM and 11:53 PM is the Holika Dahan Muhurta.

Family and community members light bonfires during this sacred period, symbolizing the victory of righteousness over malevolence.

During this time, prayers are offered and rituals are performed to invoke divine blessings and foster unity.

Follow these steps to perform Holi Puja for Holika Dahan in 2024:

  • Light a four-faced diya using mustard oil around 4 PM to 5 PM. Alongside, prepare homemade sweets such as Malpua and semolina halwa as offerings to Kshetrapaal, a form of Kaal Bhairav. It is believed that Kshetrapaal protects devotees from various afflictions and death fears.
  • Prepare a mixture of water and milk, along with turmeric, roli, wheat flour, white sacred thread (kaccha soot), akshat, jaggery, garland, earthen lamp, desi ghee, and incense sticks.
  • As a gesture of reverence, circumambulate the area seven times and tie a white sacred thread around the Holika effigy.
  • During Holika Dahan in 2024, devotees can follow these rituals to partake in the sacred tradition of Holi Puja, invoking blessings and fostering spiritual harmony.
