Mumbai: Explosive Indian batter Prithvi Shaw was assaulted for refusing a selfie. Thankfully, Shaw managed to avoid the fatal assault.
Eight individuals allegedly attacked the 23-year-old player while he sat in his friend’s vehicle. The Mumbai Police filed a case against all eight participants in the incident.
According to sources, the accused approached Shaw for a selfie. However, when he refused, they became enraged and began throwing rocks at his friend’s car.
As a result of the incident, the Mumbai Police commenced an investigation and charged eight individuals under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Saw is not a regular member of the Indian cricket team, but his explosive batting has made him a fan favourite for the Delhi Capitals.

Since July 2021, Prithvi has not participated in an international match for the Men in Blue. After more than 18 months, he was named to the Indian side for the T20I series against New Zealand last month. However, he was not selected for the starting lineup.
On Valentine’s Day, a photograph of Shaw with his rumoured lover Niddhi Tapadia went viral, causing him to trend on social media. The image was uploaded to Instagram from Prithvi’s account. In the photograph, Prithvi and Tapadia can be seen sharing a warm moment together.
However, after the image began garnering media attention, Shaw turned to Instagram to clarify. He deemed the photographs to be phoney and debunked the marriage rumour.
