Four minor boys – aged between 10 and 14 – were arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in the capital’s Pimpri area, said police.
On Sunday afternoon, the boys, who live in Anna Saheb Magar slum, allegedly picked up the minor girl who was playing in the surrounding area and took her to an isolated area. They then raped the girl by taking turns, said Pimpri police.
“The incident came to light after the girl, who was traumatized, narrated her ordeal to her mother and later police were informed,” they said.
Currently, the boys have been in custody.
A case under sections 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural offences) of IPC and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 was registered, said officials.
