In a bizarre incident reported from Kapurthala district in Punjab, a 65-year old woman who was declared dead by the doctors at a private hospital and then placed in the morgue was found alive.
As per reports by a Hindi media portal, the families came to know about the woman being alive when they went to the morgue to check on the gold chain she was wearing. When the family member of the woman opened the morgue refrigerator, they found the woman to be breathing.
When the family members found the elderly woman alive, panic erupted. The doctor was immediately called to check her and she was made to drink water.
The doctor removed the blindfold from the eyes of the woman and sprinkled water on her face. She then opened her eyes and later she was handed over to the family after the formalities were completed.
Post this, the family took the woman home, but her health started to deteriorate again and she was shifted to Kapurthala civil hospital.
However, the woman breathed her last on Wednesday morning, meanwhile, Kala Sanghian post-in-charge said that he didn’t receive any complaint in this regard.
While no police complaint has been made into the matter, still it has become a talking point in the city.
