In a remarkable display of batting prowess, Ajinkya Rahane and Sarfaraz Khan guided Mumbai to a nail-biting win against Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Rahane’s unbeaten 72 served as the team’s backbone, complemented by Sarfaraz’s sensational 73 off just 22 deliveries.
Faced with a daunting target of 217, Mumbai’s chase was anchored by Rahane, who displayed exceptional composure. Sarfaraz’s explosive innings, featuring seven sixes and six fours, was crucial in maintaining the scoring momentum, despite the team experiencing periodic setbacks.
After losing Yashasvi Jaiswal early, Rahane and Sarfaraz orchestrated a rapid 111-run partnership. Subsequent support came from Atharva Ankolekar, whose 26 off nine balls reinvigorated the innings, leading to a successful pursuit of Rajasthan’s formidable score of 216, achieved largely through Deepak Hooda and Mukul Choudhary’s efforts.
