BJP MLA from Ramgarh, Gyan Dev Ahuja was seen allegedly distributing money to the supporters and hence was booked for violating the model code of conduct. It happened while he was rallying before filling his nomination as an independent candidate today.
“FIR was lodged with Banipark Police Station under sections of the Representation of the People’s Act”, Jagat Rajeshwar, Returning Officer of Sanganer constituency was quoted saying by Eenadu India.
As he is a sitting MLA, the case will be looked into by CID’s Crime Branch.
He had said that his campaign will focus on issues such as the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya and cow protection. Ahuja was earlier denied a BJP ticket after which he filled his nomination as an independent candidate. He is set to contest from Sanganer constituency.
