In a shocking case, doctors of a government-run hospital in Rajasthan’s Udaipur found 80 items that included a chillum, keys, and coins inside a patient’s stomach on Monday. As per a report by a news agency, four doctors undertook the operation that lasted about 90 minutes.
The 35-year-old man complained of severe stomach ache and was then made to undergo an X-ray.
Dr. DK Sharma quoted a news agency “We were stunned to see small and big metal objects including nails inside his stomach.”
The photos were released by the doctors and it showed smoking pipes, several coins, pieces of cloth, safety pin and a long wire, a bunch of leys and other solid objects. Also, there were other objects which appeared as nail cutters.
The team of doctors without delaying the case further operated the patient and removed the objects that weighed 800 gm in total. Also, the doctors revealed that the patient is mentally unsound and an addict.
They said that the patient had a habit of swallowing everything and as he began to complain about the continuous pain in his stomach, his family brought him to the government hospital in Udaipur.
The doctors also added that the patient is out of danger and is now undergoing necessary treatment. A similar incident was reported in May where the doctors removed 116 nails, iron pellet and long wire from the stomach of a middle-aged man.
