A ‘sadhu’ from Rajasthan’s Churu district allegedly chopped off his private parts after being accused of having an illegitimate relationship with a woman.
The sadhu, Santosh Das, chopped off his genitals on Tuesday morning, police said, the Hindustan Times reported.
“Das is an associate of a self-styled godman and lives at his ashram in Taranagar. We got information in the morning that the man has chopped off his private parts,” said Ramchandra, station house officer, Taranagar.
He was rushed to a local hospital. “As his condition started worsening, doctors referred Das to a hospital in Bikaner. The reasons behind his action are unclear and will be known once we record his statement,” the SHO said.
