Raksha Bandhan 2020: Here are some beautiful Rakhi designs for brother-sister duo

The festival of the brother-sister bond, Raksha Bandhan is around the corner. Rakasha Bandhan also known as Rakhi will be celebrated on August 3 this year.

On this day, Sisters tie a sacred thread or a colourful special band, called the ‘Rakhi’ on their brothers’ wrist as a mark of affection, sisterly love, and sublime sentiments. The brothers in return promise to protect their sisters and offer them gifts. Not only siblings but also cousins and friends celebrate this festival with each other.

One of the oldest tales associated with Raksha Bandhan is when Alexander the Great was undertaking his invasion of the India subcontinent in 326 BC. Encountering the powerful King Porus, it is said that Alexander’s wife had approached Porus and tied a Rakhi on his hand to ensure the safety of her husband.

This year the ‘Boycott Chinese Products’ and ‘Vocal for Local’ stream is running through Indians. Rakhis made by local organisations is being popular. Several small type of business is run by people of social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and so on that are selling handmade Rakhis for the upcoming ‘Raksha Bandhan’.
