Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Nushrratt Bharuccha took an early morning flight to Uttar Pradesh to shoot the mahurat shot of their upcoming film ‘Ram Setu’.
The movie will be co-produced by Amazon Prime and it will be the first production of the streaming giant.
Akshay took to his Instagram account and shared the great news with his fans, he wrote, “A special film, a special start…Team #RamSetu off to Ayodhya for the mahurat shot. And so the journey begins. Need special wishes from all you guys.”

Akshay had recently shared in an interview, “The story of ‘Ram Setu’ is one that has always intrigued and inspired me: it represents strength, bravery and love, and uniquely Indian values that have formed the moral and social fabric of our great country. ‘Ram Setu’ is a bridge between generations past, present and future. I look forward to telling the story of a significant part of Indian heritage, especially for the youth.”
The film, directed by Abhishek Sharma of “Parmanu” and “Tere Bin Laden” fame, stars Kumar in the role of an archaeologist.
Filmmaker Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has helmed Kumar starrer upcoming period film “Prithviraj”, is attached as a creative producer. The film’s shoot is spread across multiple schedules over the next few months, with 80% of the filming planned in Mumbai.
