Ramadan or Ramzan is observed as the Fasting month for Muslims. It is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar. The festival is the personification of reflection, revelation, revolution, and restoration. In Arabic, Ramadan means ‘Scorching heat’ possibly because the holiday falls in a time when the temperatures are quite high in that part of the world.

Normally, the sighting of the crescent moon marks the end of the Holy Month. Muslims break their fasting by sharing meals with family and friends in a three-day festival known as Eid al-Fitr.

There are certain rules and regulations for the fasting as per the Islamic Calendra.

In Patna, the Holy month of Ramadan begins from April 25.
