9:30 AM Voting underway for Ramgarh Assembly Bypolls


Rajasthan: The voting for by-poll elections for Ramgarh constituency started Monday morning. The elections could not take place on December 7 along with the state due to the death of BSP candidate Laxman Singh, days before the Elections. Among the 20 candidates that are contesting, a close fight between Congress hope Shafia Zubair Khan, BJP candidate Sukhwant Singh and BSP’s Jagat Singh is anticipated.

The elections in the state of Rajasthan took place on December 7, along with Mizoram and Telangana.
51,687 polling booths were set up for the Rajasthan Assembly Elections, 259 of which were taken care of exclusively by women officials.

Congress party made a comeback as Rajasthan over the last 4 elections has chosen to vote out the incumbent government. The vote counting took place on December 11.

The Congress won 99 out of 199 seats, ousting the ruling Vasundhara Raje-led BJP government.
